For more than 20 years, Laura lived in the world of high achievement and multi-million-dollar sales. At the beginning of her career, leadership and sales interacted a great deal and customer service was key. A strong team spirit and genuine collaboration to succeed prevailed while fun was experienced in the workplace. A hands-on approach from management was the norm, and there was evidence of Empathy for the entire team from top to bottom. That approach transcended into customer satisfaction and mutual overall success. As her career progressed she began to notice a subtle but pervasive change. Because of the duration of her career, she had time to look at the big picture—to look for patterns—and she realized that something big had changed in Corporate America. The Empathy Key was missing and the door was jammed.
The corporate atmosphere became more focused on the numbers matrix and less on the human matrix. The balance was broken. Teams became less enthusiastic, more robotic, and less productive in response to the changing priorities. Laura wanted to call out to leadership, “Everybody is important! There are different ways to succeed!” She began to feel an urgent need to bring Empathy and the human factor of the team back into focus as priorities.

Additionally Laura felt the urgency to fine-tune herself and search for answers. What happened next was short of crazy in the eyes of many in a downturned economy. She took a leap of faith, left a lucrative sales job and began a journey that landed her here. Laura discovered she’s an Empath, something she always new but couldn’t define until her research began. She also realized what came natural to her in terms of having the ability to accurately read others, feel what they feel, was not the case for many. Empathy was the leading factor in her personal and professional successes. She genuinely wanted to help others define who they are and who they’re dealing with on a daily basis to create better results. Thus The Empathy Key was born.
As worker bees and as consumers, we get so mesmerized by the bottom line that we forget about the importance of empathy, integrity, honesty, and effective interpersonal skills. Lately, more and more people are rediscovering these values in their professional and personal lives to create success. The pendulum is swinging back.
People want to be heard. To be recognized. To be understood and appreciated for who they are. They desire to be treated the way they want to be treated. Not how others want to treat them. Laura and The Empathy Key will help you discover how to accomplish this in order to achieve desired outcomes. Laura’s authentic, passionate, energetic, and infectious persona is dominated by the King and Engager keys. Discover what keys dominate you.
Laura’s mission and privilege is to help others succeed and pull the idea and practice of empathy back into light. She is a humanitarian, an avid equestrienne, enthusiastic about her family, and believes in the importance of work/life balance.
